The Dutch Acrobatics Festival is an annual event that draws some of the most talented acrobats from Europe and abroad for 4 days of classes, performances and community fun . This talented community of teachers and practitioners facilitates a safe environment for everyone to explore amazing feats with the support of skillful spotting and instruction.
This weekend program models after the festival, and will empower students to explore beyond leading edge of their acrobatics practice with the skillful guidance of the teacher. We will warm-up with strength training for core, arms and shoulders as well as flexibility training, and review basic acrobatic elements to lay the foundation for the next level. We will put all the basic elements together into higher level partner acrobatics, such as washing machines, sequences from lying down to standing and vice versa, Icarian techniques (throwing and catching), hand-to-hand balancing and definitely a decent number of handstands on various bodyparts.
To just name a few of the benefits you might experience: increase in confidence, improved communication, better handstands, more trust & a great deal of fun with acrobatics. You will also get to learn some Dutch along the way! Students are welcome to come with a partner or alone.
Prerequisites: 1-year Acrobatics / AcroYoga experience, free headstand 1 min, handstand against the wall 30 sec, base or fly star (candlestick on feet) and shoulderstand on hands.
